A New Centre for Geneva
For over 60 years, the Islamic Centre of Geneva has welcomed, supported and served the community and the city.
With the final building permit now secured, this project can become a reality. The new building will provide more space for prayer, education, gatherings, transmission of knowledge and social support. A new chapter is now opening: the construction of a building better suited to present and future needs.

Why expand ?
The current premises, occupied since the Centre’s early days, can no longer fully meet today’s needs.
The new building aims to :
- better welcome worshippers,
- develop educational activities,
- provide spaces suited to gatherings and conferences,
- strengthen social and community support,
- pass on knowledge to future generations in better conditions.
The project will triple the available floor space: from 310 m² to 910 m².
A founding institution, a decisive turning point
Founded in 1961 by Dr Said Ramadan, the Islamic Centre of Geneva is a historic institution, recognised for its lasting presence in the religious, cultural and social life of the city.
For over six decades, it has hosted activities in prayer, education, dialogue, transmission of knowledge and mutual support.
The final building permit marks a significant milestone in its history: giving the Centre the material means to continue and develop its mission under better conditions.
Supporting this project means enabling a useful, living and deeply rooted Geneva institution to keep serving with dignity, openness and responsibility.
